The W.K. Gordon Center Museum is offering free admission for local residents on weekends in March, 2013. Mingus days are March 9-10, Gordon Days are March 16-17 and Strawn Days are March 23-24. The museum is located in Thurber on the South side of Interstate 20 next to the New York Hill Restaurant. Lions Club Seeking Support for Strawn Livestock Association
Strawn Lions Club now seeking donations to support Strawn Youth Livestock Association.
Donations can be made at First National Bank in Strawn. For any questions call Corey Crenshaw at (254) 672-5211 or ask any Lions Club member. These funds will be used to help our youth with their agriculture animal projects at the Palo Pinto County Livestock Show.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Representative to give presentation
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department representatives will be in Strawn on January 31st to give a presentation and hold a question and answer session at the Guest Chapel. Starting at 6:00 pm, the director of State Parks Division, Brent Leisure, will talk about the management of Lake Tucker. They will also talk about any impact the new state park might have on water usage and how the lake could become a key feature of the state park.
