Palo Pinto Mountains State Park Status Update

Palo Pinto Mountains State Park received over $2 million dollars in funding this past legislative session to complete the planning and architecture for the park facilities.  The plans up to this point call for horsback riding trails, biking trails and hiking trails.  They call for a dedicated stargazing area, equestrian camping area, 85 full hookup RV sites, 20 cabins ranging from a basic enclosure with air-conditioning to a 2 bedroom cabin with all the amenities and multiple day use areas.  They also call for a fishing dock, boat ramp and a large event center available for rent with a full commercial kitchen.  Upon completion of the plans, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will approach our state legislatures in 2017 with a request for funding to build this park.  It is very important that everyone contacts their state representative and requests that this park be fully funded if we want to see the full potential of this beautiful site brought to reality.  Please read the following Fort Worth Star Telegram article for more information.http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/fort-worth/article57350918.html
