City of Strawn is seeking a public works employee.  This job is for an entry level position.  Applicant must be able to pass a background check.  Applicant must have or be able to get a "d" surface water operator license within 3 months of hire date.  Applicant must have a valid drivers license.  Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.  This position will require proper and safe operation of lawn maintenance equipment.  This position will also involve operation and maintenance at water treatment facilities, sewer treatment facilities, water distribution system and city streets.  City of Strawn will provide necessary training.  As the employee progresses in training, the employee will be granted the opportunity to attend technical schools and test for higher water license categories.  This position will be eligible for health insurance and participation in a matched retirement plan after 90 day period has passed.  Applications may be picked up at Strawn City Hall located at 118 E.
